STUDENT SUSPENSION - the Principal refers students that would normally be suspend to the program. The students would be remanded to the program for the entire suspension period - CONFLICT RESOLUTION PROGRAM is introduced.
S .E. T. C.L. A.E. (Self-Esteem-Through-Culture-Leads to Academic-Excellence) - a comprehensive, multicultural curriculum that leads to academic achievement by improving self esteem. This model was developed by Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu.
 RITES OF PASSAGE - the program last all school year long and teaches students the model from adolescence to adulthood.
D.A.P. (UMOJA's Drug Awareness Program) - the program covers the entire gamut of drug awareness and is offered throughout the school year.
E. MAN IN THE MIRROR - teaches students to look into the mirror and to hold the person that is reflected accountable. This program was designed by Dr. Elizabeth Branch and also uses vignettes.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE - each student that is in the program will have an opportunity to attend the Annual Responsible Fatherhood and Family Development Conference that is held each year in December.
UMOJA'S RESOURCE BANK - students that are in the program will have access to the resources listed below:

     · Graduating Senior of FWISD
     · Proof of Acceptance from Tarrant County College South Campus
     · 2 Reference Letters
     · Community Service

Men of UMOJA Scholarship – Year 2015-2016 Criteria
The intent of UMOJA’S Scholarship award is to encourage youth to develop responsible social skills and advance their academic studies beyond high school.

The following criteria shall serve as a guideline in determining the amount and number of Scholarships awarded and the selection process for awarding a scholarship:

I. Scholarship Award
     A. The scholarship shall be awarded on an annual basis.
     B. The recipient(s) of the scholarship award will be determined annually prior to June 10th.
     C. The monetary amount of the scholarships shall range between $250.00 and $500.00 based on number of recipients
          and available funding.

II. Funding
A. The funding for the annual scholarship will be provided from UMOJA’S scholarship fund, administered by the UMOJA scholarship committee.
B. The award of scholarship will be made by UMOJA.
C. The application requirements shall be determined by the scholarship committee and be reviewed and amended as necessary to reflect the intent of the scholarship.
D. Recipients must be attending Tarrant County Community College South Campus. Scholarship will be issued directly to the college only. It will not be issued to individuals or companies.
III. Eligibility for Scholarship
A.  The applicant must file a complete application for scholarship.
B. The applicant shall be a graduating high school senior attending the Fort Worth Independent School District, unless other wise approved by the scholarship committee.
C. The applicant must provide proof of acceptance to the Tarrant County Community College South Campus for the next academic period.
D. Applicant must submit an Essay (The Essay must be 500 words minimum, Typed and doubled spaced or application will be disqualified) entitled “The Legacy I Want to Leave.”
E. All applications must be accompanied by two letters of Recommendation. (Example: Principal, Counselor, Teacher and/or Pastor). Please two only.
F. Applicant must have completed 20 hours of community service with a non- profit company or organization prior to submitting application. Please contact: Johnny Muhammad 817.655.5622, Bruce Lee 817.349.1835 or Carlos Dukes 817.401.5381 for volunteer opportunities with the Men of UMOJA.
G. Only send requested materials. Men of UMOJA are not responsible for Applications lost in the mail or applications received after the dead line.
IV. Submission Instructions
1. All requested material must be sent together and be postmarked by May 24th of each year.
2. Deadline for completed application is May 24 - All items must be postmarked by this date.
3. Applications received with “postage due” will not be accepted.
4. Send all requested materials together
    (Application Form, Acceptance letter, Essay, 2 Reference letters, Proof of Community Service).
